Peter Knapp Obituary
He was raised in Narberth, Pa., and attended Penn State University. Upon finishing college, Peter enlisted with the U.S. Navy; he was honorably discharged in 1954.
Peter began his career for the former Anderson Insurance Co. in Mystic for many years before becoming an ordained Minister. He was the founder of Faith Fellowship Ministries which he pastored with his wife for over 30 years up until his retirement. He was an accomplished artist and skilled carpenter. Peter was also an avid collector of trains and cars and even went skydiving on his 80th birthday. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends and had a wonderful sense of humor. Peter was a member of the Mystic Lions Club and the Mystic Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Belletiere and Elizabeth Schachner (Richard); a sister, Barbara Zenker; and four grandchildren: Dana and Michael Belletiere, Scott Schachner and Jeffrey Schachner (Elizabeth). He was predeceased by his wife Jean; daughter Barbara Lynn Knapp; and a son-in-law, Gene Belletiere.
Funeral services will be held privately for Peter.

I was so sorry to hear this. Pastor was a big part of my life through my teen and early 20 years. I think I was responsible for at least some of the grey hair. But the whole family took me in. I learned a strong work ethic. I thought I was helping him by doing chores at the house and church. He was teaching me to be a man. A testament to him was also his daughter Betsy (Elizabeth). I would not be the gentleman I am today if not for her great patience. My love and prayers to you Betsy and the family.

My condolences to the family. Pastor Peter was an important part of my days as a student at UConn. A number of us came down from there to Faith Fellowship for several years in the 90s. I fondly remember his kind spirit and way with people in the pulpit. Grace to the family.
