Robert Baez Obituary

Yonkers, N.Y. - Robert Andrew "Bobby" Baez was born July 17, 1968, in southern Puerto Rico. He became the child of Samuel and Marianne Baez in September of that year. In 1970, at age 19 months, having been diagnosed with profound developmental issues, he became a resident of Richmond Children's Center, at that time located in Mount Vernon, N.Y. In following years, as Richmond Center, the care facility was moved to Yonkers, where Bobby resided the rest of his life. He died there May 7, 2023.

Bobby loved music. He responded with smiles and laughter. He enjoyed the outdoors being pushed in his chair, feeling the fresh air, and sensing the movement of the trees. His caregivers provided him with those experiences to help him enjoy his world.

He is survived by countless caregivers who provided tender and loving care during his lifetime; by fellow residents of Richmond; by his mother of Waterford; and by brothers, John and his family of Waterford, and Michael and his family of West Bridgewater, Mass. He was predeceased by a brother, Peter, and recently by his father, Sam.

Funeral Services will be held privately.
