Ronald Pluth Obituary

Mesa, Ariz. - Ronald M. Pluth, 68, of Mesa, Ariz., went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sept. 12, 2007.

He was born April 9, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., son of Michael and Mary (Zorman) Pluth. Raised in Downers Grove, Ill., he attended local schools. He earned a bachelor's degree at Hyles-Anderson College in Indiana. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served as an electronic technician aboard the USS Dogfish, USS Thomas Edison, USS Sam Houston, and USS John Marshall. As a resident of southeastern Connecticut for many years, Ron served as a Christian educator at the Stedfast Baptist Church in Groton. He also did independent contracting, built homes, and worked for Hertz Rent-A-Car, as well as The Day newspaper.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet Whittaker Pluth; his father, Michael and stepmother, Josephine; two brothers, Michael Jr. and Joseph Pluth; a sister, Roseanne Sadoski; four foster daughters; six nieces and four nephews. Ron was a faithful husband, a caring son and brother, and a friend who will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 6, 2007, at Stedfast Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stedfast Baptist Church, 1041 Poquonnock Road, Groton CT 06340.
