Just recently I was cleaning out some house maintenance records and I came across Scotts business card, which made me wonder.. and unfortunately lead me to here.
..found myself remembering Scott's effervescent energy, he was a joy to work with when I assisted him in replacing my antique furnace.
I'm grateful for having known him, though much to briefly.
Safe Travels across the universe!

So much to say about Scott, he was my cousin, my 'Best Man' at our wedding, my source of a good story and laugh (told with dramatic flair), my riding enthusiast that I lived vicarious through and my friend. I will miss him dearly and send my thoughts and prayers to Sabrina and his family.

We began as neighbors on Ashcraft Road in New London and a friendship developed. Always full of life and smiles as a proud husband and father. His infectious personality won him friends instantly.
We spent many hours together as I worked with him as a plumbers helper. We shared laughs, military stories and just a love for life.
Time and distance passed as I move far south away from CT and will always regret not making the effort to reconnect.
I felt a sense of loss when I got the call on Tuesday. As many, I struggle with the why and I reflect on how he touched my life.
To the Harris family you remain in my thoughts and prayers and I pray for your comfort and strength during this time of grieving.
"Scotty Hey" you will be missed.

Scott was our plumber for a dozen years or so. The relationship Susan and I established during that time was unexpected, after all how many customers develop a sincere friendship with their plumber? With Scott you just couldn't help it. His enthusiasm for the craft he was so good at often resulted in lessons and advice to us on the fine art of boilers, pressure gauges, and thermostats. These teaching moments were always delivered in a manner unique to Scott - with passion and max volume. Indeed our neighbors probably learned nearly as much as we did! But Scott was so much more than our plumber. His generosity, kindness and good nature were always on display. He would frequently ask, "do you need anything?" This was an offer for us to help ourselves to any items among his prodigious collection of used but still useful objects he had gathered that took up vast amounts of space in his yard. His compassion for his cats and for the wild creatures that shared his neighborhood was another reason we admired and thought highly of Scott. He also gave great "bear hugs" and his loud but welcomed call out to my wife Susan of "Hi Mamma!!!!" will ring in our ears for years to come. Truly a one of a kind guy we are proud to have called him our friend and who we will miss greatly. Rest in peace Scott.

Dearest Harris family ,
I am so sorry to hear of Scotts passing.
My first thoughts when a mutual friend from the BP days told me, was how I remember his smile and what a fun kid he was ! I see from what is being said about the adult Scott that his smile and his fun loving spirit remained with him ! So many memories of the Black Point neighbors , we sure had a wonder full childhood there together !
I am sure Grant is there in heaven to greet him as a big brother should !
Love and prayers for everyone you are all such bright spots in my memories!
I have been in your place with losing brothers too soon - someday the memories will make you smile! Keep Scotts smile and fun loving spirit in your hearts ! Love Lorie Mertens Eadie

We are saddened by the loss of such a kind hearted Man. We met Scott 8 years ago when we moved to the neighborhood. He was gentle, funny and generous. Scott always made sure the neighbors had everything they would need, from a generator to a tomato or cucumber, lol
He made sure even all the neighborhood animals were safe and fed. Scott was unique in his own way, and had nicknames for some including us. We stood by outside his home on Sunday waiting for word he was ok. Unfortunately the Lord decided otherwise, the neighborhood is not at a loss without him. Our condolences to his daughter Sabrina and the rest of his family. We will surely miss him.
