Scott Walker Obituary

Jewett City - Lt. Scott Walker, 62, of Jewett City, died peacefully at home surrounded by family Oct. 21, 2023. He was married to Amy (Randall) Walker June 22, 1991. He was born in Willimantic. He attended Windham Tech focusing on automotive repair. He was the son of the late Terrence and Anne (Hawkins) Walker.

Scott worked as a master mechanic and in management for many years at places including Superior Rental, The Lake of Isles - Golf Course, Foxwoods-Public Works, Khan Tractor, Pakulis Equipment, and Magovern. He was a skilled mechanic that could fix anything.

Scott was a proud member, leader and a great teacher of new members and cadets of the Jewett City Fire Department. Everyone looked up to Scott and knew they could rely on him whenever they needed guidance, especially when needing support with mechanical equipment. His greatest joy as of late was seeing the new ET-156 which he designed alongside his dearest friends and fellow firefighters. Becoming an officer, a Lieutenant, brought him much joy and pride. Scott leaves some big shoes to fill within the department.

In addition to Amy, Scott is survived by his daughter Courtney and her husband Joshua; and his son Colby. Scott is also survived by his sister Teri, her husband Bruce and son Benjamin. There are also many aunts and cousins living in the Storrs area; and many loving friends and fellow firefighters in the surrounding towns, all of whom were incredibly important to him and allowed him to pass with dignity and a sense of accomplishment.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Scott's family from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in the Griswold Funeral Home & Crematory, 30 North Main Street, Jewett City. Memorial donations in Scott's name may be made to Kitty Harbor or the American Cancer Society. For memorial guestbook, visit www.GriswoldFunerals.com.
