Blaine Anderson Obituary

Blaine Jay Anderson passed away Saturday June 30, 2012 bat his home in Palm Desert, California, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Cornish, Utah, on November 14, 1922, the son of Andy and Mae Anderson. He spent his youth in Millville, Utah. His family then moved to Rupert, Idaho, in 1937, graduating from Rupert High School with the class of 1940. Blaine married Ina Snapp, the love of his life, on November 26, 1942. He served with the military police in the ninety-seventh Infantry Division during WWII in Germany and Japan, being honorably discharged in 1945. Upon his return to civilian life, he was employed by the Amalgamated Sugar Company in Twin Falls, Idaho. He and Ina moved to Redondo Beach, California, where they operated the Mr. BJ's grocery store until his retirement. They since have resided at the Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, California, where he enjoyed many years of golf with his many friends. He is survived by his wife Ina, daughter Karla Himes of Boise, Idaho, granddaughter Julie (Mike) Anderson, grandson Jared Anderson, and a great-grandson Gavin Anderson. He was preceded in death by his son Randal, his parents and two brothers Andy and Vern. The service will be conducted Saturday July 7, 2012 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif.
