Patrick Fay Obituary

Patrick Eugene Fay, 71, a resident of Temecula for 30 years, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. Pat was born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif., and was the second child of the Hon. Eugene and Dorothy Fay. He graduated from Chaminade High School, and received a BS degree in Construction from Arizona State University. After college, Pat served his country in the Navy as a Seabee stationed in Hawaii. From custom homes in Lake Arrowhead to water treatment plants to the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA, Pat made enduring marks as a contractor. Also a licensed broker, he started the Real Estate Temecula brokerage in 2005. Pat had a sincere appreciation of life, and he reminded everyone in his final days that "he considers himself a very lucky person" to have lived such a great life. Pat is survived by his wife, Bonnie Fay; daughters, Kitty (Ryan) Wunsch and Kellee (David) Smith; former wife, Mary Margaret Fay; sons, John (Ronda) Fay and Kevin (Marnie) Fay; sister, Sharon Fay Koch; nephew, Steve Koch; his 11 grandchildren, Rachel, Kona, Emily, Kekai, Grace, Samantha, Garrett, Shane, John, Charlotte, and Koa; and his bird buddy, Walter. His funeral Mass, followed by a reception, will be held on December 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 41875 C St., Temecula, Calif. 92592. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to: www.woundedwarriorproject.org or www.hospiceofthevalleys.org in honor of Patrick Fay.

I miss you too!! Life will never be the same. I read something in an obituary yesterday and I thought it was so perfect. "Don't cry because he is gone; smile because he was here." I'll try.
