Time has flown by and so much has gone on in your family. Your daughter is a Grandmother and still looks as young and beautiful as you were. I still miss our phone calls and catch up time but watching your children grow and prosper has been a joy you would have loved.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

To the family of my dearest friend. Verna and I met when Lena was a tiny tot and then when Lena and Jason were very young I would come to Indio and visit for the weekend.
I miss her beautiful smile and loving ways. Her love of family and working with children are her best qualities.

Today, I just found out from my by Grandmother that Mrs. Marrujo was my 3rd cousin. She was also my Pre K teacher at The Learning Tree year around year 1998. She was one of the best teachers I knew and she will always remain in my heart. I wish I knew sooner that we were related. She was always there, little did I know we were related... Verna and I met when we worked for United California Bank. We became friends and I met all of Verna's family. Lena was just a toddler and Eddy was a loving Dad & Husband.
Over the years we would keep in touch
at Xmas or unfortunately when we would lose one of our family members. But our sisterhood was still there no matter how long it had been.
My heart breaks that God took such a loving, giving and spirited person. Her spirit lives on in her Children and Grandchildren. She is now one of our angels, looking down on us.
Eddy you must continue her passion of teaching little ones. Go give time at the libraby, volunteer at schools and read to the children. Keep Lena's spirit alive.
My dearest friend is gone from this earth but remains strong in my heart. Love to you all forever,
Aunt Waffie

Dear Eddie and Family,
My thoughts of Verna will always be of her visits at The Learning Tree after she retired. Her afternoon visits were so cheerful. We would sit and chit chat for hours. There was never a subject we did not have anything to say something about. I was so happy to hear from Verna on my 90th birthday. It made me think of all my beautiful memories of her.
With my deepest sympathy,
