Virginia Milanovich Obituary

Virginia Ann Milanovich

Virginia Ann Milanovich was born July 16, 1941, on the Soboba Indian Reservation to parents Steven Milanovich and LaVerne Saubel, an influential member of an Agua Caliente all-female tribal council that persuaded Congress in 1957 to pass legislation allowing the tribe to govern itself. Throughout her life, Virginia was dedicated to her family and to her community. She was involved in many charitable activities, including the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, Boys & Girls Club and Martha's Village, and was a generous supporter of various local sports programs. Virginia is survived by her daughter Lisa Anne Libretti-Loustaunau of Palm Springs; adopted daughter Cassandra Ramirez Milanovich of Palm Springs; sons Delbert Mario Sanchez Sr., Manuel Alvarado III and Andre Alvarado Sr. of Palm Springs; sisters Rosanna M. Saubel and Cheryl Rae Saubel of Palm Springs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in her passing by her parents, Steven Milanovich and LaVerne Saubel; sons Richard F. Sanchez, Jr. and Rodney S. Sanchez; and brothers James Saubel Jr., Richard Milanovich, Delbert Saubel Sr. and Leonard Saubel Sr. Virginia leaves behind many close friends who will miss her dearly. There will be a traditional wake held at the Agua Caliente Tribal Building on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a graveside service to be held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jane Augustine Patencio Cemetery in Palm Springs, California. To a most memorable fine lady, Virginia! I miss all our talks we used to have together! Those times are so embedded in my heart! How you loved your children and grandchildren...you were so devoted to your family, and, to your friends, as I am devoted to mine! I miss you every day. I See you sitting in that chair with the tears in your eyes, joyful tears, loving tears! It was like you took a part of me with you the day you went to the Lord! You will always be in my heart!

Virginia,
I miss all the times we sat together in my back office at the jewelry store and talked and talked about our kids and how we grew up. Those memories are so chiseled into my heart, you have no idea...or maybe you do...I hope so! I miss you lovely lady with all my heart. You were so kind and fond of Garo and I, and you loved your family so much that your heart was bursting with the warmth that only a wonderful mother could have! And, so , my friend, someday we will be together and share, again, those fond memories together...until then...I love you!

My dearest Virginia, I know that you and Garo are now together in Heaven! I miss you both dearly! You were always an inspiration to me on how to be the best grandmother, and mother! You loved your children and your grandchildren so much! i will never forget all the wonderful moments we spent together talking in the back of my store and how your face lit up when speaking about your family! You were one heartfelt person! And, there aren't too many of those people left in this world! My love for you shall never die! It will keep on living!

Our deepest condolences to the family. Virginia was a true blessing in our lives. Me myself had the pleasure of meeting her going on 40 years ago. The pleasure I am going to miss is the celebration of our friendship we had planned on that Friday she left for South Dskota to do when she returned on Feb. 15th. To so many counting myself and husband she was a Loving, Caring, Beautiful lady always giving to some charity or someone. I love you and will miss our talks and most of all you my friend. Until we meet again Forever & Always in our ????????

My deepest condolences to the family. Very sorry for your loss. I met this beautiful soul a few years back. She was Christmas shopping for the needy.I ran into her every year after, doing the same thing. Sometimes it was here local, Banning and Riverside. I would just smile and thank God for people like her. Such a energetic woman (for her age). To the family, thank you for sharing her. God Bless you all. May you find peace & comfort in her memories.
