Gerald Ryan Obituary

Gerald E. (Jerry) Ryan passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 92. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. Jerry was born on June 25, 1932, in Rock Prairie, Texas.
Jerry graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan in 1950. At 18, he began working for Southern Pacific Railroad while attending night classes at Baylor University before transferring to Texas A&M, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing in 1959. A member of Phi Kappa Phi, he was also a tutor for football players under Coach Bear Bryant.
After graduation, Jerry joined Owens Illinois Company as a sales representative and later became General Manager of the Dallas manufacturing plant, retiring in 1988. He then moved to Cloudcroft, New Mexico, before returning to Bryan-College Station. Jerry was a Century Club member of the Texas A&M Association of Former Students and a Heritage Club member of the Texas A&M Foundation.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughters Lisa Ryan and Deborah Spain. He is survived by his daughters Patrice Rivers and husband Bill, Jamie Ryan Neff and partner Richard Wilkins; Granddaughters Sophie Beale and husband John, Leslie Rivers Dodd and husband Sean, Amanda Spain Norton and husband John, Grandsons Christopher Rivers and wife Andrea, Brett Neff and husband Lance Sanchez, and Ryan Neff; Great Granddaughters Reagan Norton, Ruby Rivers, Quinn Neff, River Dodd; and Great Grandsons Trey Neff and Waylon Norton.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, 3001 S. College Avenue in Bryan, TX. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Aggie Field of Honor & Memorial Cemetery in College Station, TX. Express condolences at www.CallawayJones.com.
