Josephine Scamardo Obituary
Josephine Beatrice Scarmardo, known to all as "JoBe", age 80 of Bryan, Texas, passed away June 15, 2012 surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday June 18 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Reverend Father Patrick Ebner, Msgr. John Malinowski and Msgr. John McCaffrey. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M. Sunday June 17 at Memorial Chapel.
The rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Sunday and Alter Society rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Pete Scarmardo and her parents Rena and Tony Boatcallie.
Her legacy lives on through her children, Pete Anthony and Jo Scarmardo of Caldwell, Texas, David Wayne and Dory Scarmardo, Mark Christopher and Shannon Scarmardo, Rosemary and Victor Drozd, Carl Gregory and Annette Scarmardo, all of Bryan, Texas and Linda and Kevin Page of Dallas, Texas. Her Grandchildren, Scott and Stacey Scarmardo, Craig and Ashley Scarmardo, Ty Scarmardo, Ryan Scarmardo, Sophie Scarmardo, Sage Scarmardo, Summer Scarmardo, Jennifer Scarmardo, Elisha and Jarrad McLeod, Carl Scarmardo, Mark Scarmardo, Chris Scarmardo, Tiffany Drozd, Jonathan Drozd, Joe Arledge, Audrey and Travis Montgomery, Brooks Arledge and Isabella Page. And her great grandchildren, Cade, Carlie and Pete Gabrielle. Brothers, Anthony and Norma Boatcallie, Barney and Milissa Boatcallie, both of College Station, Texas, and sisters, Irene Boatcallie of College Station, Texas and Rose and Charles Perrone of Dallas. And family members, Frank and Donna Scarmardo, Rosalie and Eugene Polzer, Matilda and Lonnie Minze, Marilda and Terry Hugo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Josephine was fiercely proud of her family and never met a stranger. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of faith, family, friends, tradition, perseverance, compassion, and contentment.
Josephine was a co-founder of the Farm Patch, in Bryan, Texas, worked for several years at the Bryan Independent School District, was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was an avid bridge player and a proud supporter of the Texas Aggies and the Bryan-College Station community.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Hospital.
