Louis Verchot Obituary

Louis Verchot

Aug 3, 1933 - Jan 6, 2026

Louis Joseph Verchot, 92, of Bryan Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital, and was surrounded by his family. He was born August 3, 1933, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Louis Felix and Josephine Verchot, and grew up alongside his sisters, Ellen and Rosanne.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Providence College, a Master's degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Master's degree in telecommunications from Pace University. Louis worked for several corporations including Western Union, McGraw Hill, New York Stock Exchange, and IBM.

In 1957 he married Patricia Anne Maguire and raised four children in Washington Township, New Jersey, Louis, Michael, Thomas, and Jeanmarie.

He is survived by three grandchildren, Manon, Ethan and Sebastian.

Louis will be remembered for his love of nonfiction literature, science, and mathematics, and for his belief that most problems could be solved with persistence and the right tools. He retired to Raleigh, North Carolina and spent his last five years living in Bryan, Texas. In retirement, he devoted much of his time to woodcarving, often drawing inspiration from ancient Mayan civilization.

Louis and Patricia's urn will be placed in the niche at Bryan City Cemetery at a later date.
