Donna Lewis Obituary

Donna L. Lewis passed away July 30, 2023. No services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family. Donna Lorraine Lewis was born the daughter of Wm and Muriel (Dawson) Nieland in Vinton, Iowa, on July 6, 1934. Donna, her parents and brother moved to Keystone, Blairstown, Luzerne, where her only sibling Billy died at the age of 7. Donna and her folks moved to Shellsburg, Iowa, when she was in sixth grade and graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1953. She was married to Lloyd Lewis on Sept. 22, 1954. They would have celebrated 69 years in September. After Lloyd returned from Korea in 1955, the couple resided in Oceanside, Calif., until 1957 and have resided in Cedar Rapids. Donna was employed at the Municipal Court in the early 60s and then Merchants National Bank, retiring in 1992. After retirement from the bank, she was employed by a brokerage firm in Cedar Rapids. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Lanette (Dennis) Kelly of Cedar Rapids and Lori (Greg) Babicka of Gilbert, Ariz.; and granddaughter, Liesl Babicka of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as one favorite sister-in-law, Donna Higgens.
