Edward Boland Obituary

"Hula"

Age 91, late of Lisle, Saturday January 24, 2009 at Villa St. Benedict . He was born in Lockport and lived in Lockport for 71 years before moving to Lisle in 1992. Retired from Texaco, Inc. in 1981 after 43 years of service. A member of St. Dennis Church, Lockport and the Lockport Moose Lodge #1557. An avid baseball player, who played on the Texaco Refinery and Lockport Moose baseball teams from 1934-1948, he also played Minor League Professional Baseball for the Forest City Collegians, where he one time faced Bob Feller and met, at the time, scout Honus Wagner.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Laura (LaBorence) in 1957; his second wife, Catherine (McCalmont) in 1991; his parents, Charles and Katherine (O'Shaughnessy); his brothers, John, Charles "Bud" and Raymond.

Survived by his loving and devoted children, Kathleen (Joseph) Loscheider of Rockford, Patrick (Beatrice) of New Canaan, CT, Brian (Janet) of Lockport, Mary Laurie (Brad Moffatt) of Mesa, AZ, and John (Jill) of Naperville; ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Boland family would like to thank Lito, Edward's caregiver for the past year and also the staff at Villa St. Benedict and St. Thomas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Dennis School, St. Thomas Hospice or Villa St. Benedict would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, 9:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Dennis Church, Lockport, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Arrangements by:
