Jacob Rupp Obituary

Jacob David Rupp

Born: May 17, 1984

Died: September 8, 2018

Jacob David Rupp (born May 17, 1984 in Joliet, IL) died on September 8, 2018.

Jacob wanted to make a difference in this world and he did, one person (or dog) at a time. He did it in little ways and people who met him loved him immediately. He loved life and is probably pretty ticked off his was cut short, he had things to do. He loved the beach and the water and all things in nature. His love of music was front and center winning his first concert tickets at the age of 10 by singing a George Thorogood song at karaoke contest. He played the trumpet and was thinking about banjo lessons. He loved sports and played golf, hockey, fished, kayaked, Frisbee golfed, baseball and too many others to mention.

His love of sports started with T-ball with Dad coaching him on the Dolphins and resulted in life long friends. He was captain of his high school hockey (Romeoville HS) team and was responsible for coming up with the team mascot, the penguins which won the state championship.

He was quite good with his hands and loved to make and fix things. Along with everything else he like to cook, clean and "decorate". He was quite creative even in his cooking and as a child once served his mother breakfast in bed with scrambled eggs prepared with vanilla, which were quite inedible and lead to a summer of cooking lessons. He was good at almost everything he tried and therefore his work career included everything from working in a casino to working on trucks. He went to Iowa state (But remained an Iowa fan as he was raised when it suited him) on a scholarship and studied to be an engineer. He believed the little things mattered and he wouldn't let something go if he felt it was wrong, he had a strong sense of social justice.

Mostly he loved and was loved by his mom and dad, Brian and Julia Rupp Muskegon; brother, Michael; grandmother, Rae-Rupp Srch, Villa Park, IL; aunt ,Janell (Cris) Aldrich, Dunedin Florida; uncles, Ben (James Roy) Featheringill of WA; Jon Featheringill of IL; Dean Rupp of MN, Alan Rupp of AZ; cousins, Thomas Aldrich & Sam Aldrich, Iowa; and so many good friends.

A service was held at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon.

A wonderfully written obituary - Wish our earthly paths would have crossed. Seems like he lived his earthly life well.
