Dorothy Marnitz Obituary

Dorothy E. Marnitz, 90, Danville, formerly of Monticello, died at 7:08 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Manor Care at Prestwick, Avon.
She was born at Reynolds on Oct. 16, 1920, to John and Maggie (Robertson) Marnitz.
She was a lifetime member of Reynolds United Methodist Church where she held many offices. She was also active with the church study club.
She retired from the grocery in Reynolds after 30 years of employment. She then went to work for Easton Tru Flite for an additional 16 years.
She was active with the White County Republican Women.
She was a member of the Monticello Moose Auxiliary and former member of the Eagles Auxiliary, both of Monticello.
She was active with White County Council on Aging.
She was a 50 year member of the Rebekah Lodge and Pythian Sisters Homemakers Club.
Survivors include brother, Lloyd (Margaret) Marnitz, Lexington, Ky., nephews, Aaron Marnitz, Orlando, Fla., Gerald (Janet) Short, Pontiac, Ill., Chris (Kim) Marnitz, Lexington, Ky., and Brad (Susan) Marnitz, Houston, Texas; niece, Neta Marnitz, Columbia, Mo.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Services will follow at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Andrea Bremmer officiating.
Burial will be at Riverview IOOF Cemetery, rural Monticello.
Memorials may be made to Reynolds United Methodist Church.

I remember Dorothy from Tru-Flite Arrow. She was always serious about her job. She always worked to perfection. She was a very generous person. My prayers go out to her family.
