Mary Bishop Obituary

Mary "Terri" Theresa Bishop, a beloved friend, sister, aunt and nana passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 5, 2024, in Warsaw. Born in Monticello on Nov. 16, 1964, Terri was a shining light who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Joan Bishop, as well as a sister, Tammy Bishop. Terri is survived by her three loving brothers, who she adored deeply: Tom and Teresa Bishop of Moultrie, Ga., Tony and Diana Bishop, Burkburnett, Texas, and Tim Bishop, Sacramento, Calif. Terri extended her love to her chosen bonus family: Abby and Carlye Phagan Snider, Warsaw, and Shelby and Joel McColley, North Manchester. Expressing her love for her friends and family was one of her greatest joys, and she never hesitated to remind them of how much she cared.

Her legacy lives on in the countless hearts of those who called her "Aunt Terri." She adored her nieces and nephews - Jasmin, Devin, Michelle, and Nathan - and cherished every moment spent together, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love. She delighted in the simple joys of life, whether it was sharing a meal, playing with donkeys and dogs, braving wagon rides, or settling in to watch Christmas movies and opening loads of presents. She loved splashing in the pool and marveling at mountain peaks - wherever there was family, adventure, and joy, she was right there, soaking it all in.

It was her role as "Nana" that she especially cherished. Liam, Lucy, Foster, Ema, Brock, and Madi were the lights of her life. She lovingly watched over them every step of the way, sharing in their struggles and celebrating their successes with a heart full of joy. At the slightest sign of need, you could hear her calling out, "Abby! Carlye! Shelby!" Being Nana wasn't just a role for her; it was her greatest joy and purpose. And she embraced it wholeheartedly. Her face would light up with pure pride at each little triumph, and she was known for her hugs, the kind you feel long after they're gone.

Terri was a proud business owner, running her own candle company with passion and determination. She thrived on adventure, whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a weekend of camping, or just a cozy cookout surrounded by friends and family. Her humor and quick wit were legendary, leaving everyone with a smile, even on the toughest days. Though Terri was reserved with peers at first, she never met a baby or child she didn't love immediately.

Terri's presence in the lives of those who knew her can never be replaced, and she leaves behind a community that will miss her laughter, her hugs, and most of all, the way she made everyone feel uniquely special.

Titus Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Terri.
