Ernest Baron Obituary

Ernest "Buzz" Baron
Ernest R. (Buzz) Baron, beloved husband of Bonnie Carlucci, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2020, at the age of 84. Buzz, born in Norwalk and raised in Stamford, was the son of the late Ernest (Duke) and Dorothy Tallon Baron.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Bonnie, he is survived by his daughter, Elyce Bailey and her husband Tom, his son, Jim and wife Maggie, his grandchildren Milo and wife Sophia, Owen, Logan, and Ronan, as well as his sisters RoseAnn Clarke and Alice Leary He also has many loving extended family members, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Buzz graduated from Stamford High School in 1954 and Villanova University in 1958 with a degree in Economics. He joined the army in 1959 and served two tours. Buzz built a long and successful business career. He retired from WorldCom in 2000 as National Sales Manager.
Buzz was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Matthew's Parish in Norwalk. He served as Eucharistic Minister, Reader and was on the Scholarship Selection Committee. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Buzz lived his life with high principles and deep faith.
A longtime member of Shorehaven Golf Club, Buzz served as past president and also on the Board of Governors.
He enjoyed playing and watching all sports, but most of all watching his children and grandchildren playing them. Whether in Norwalk or Arkansas, you could find him cheering them on from the sidelines. If he wasn't on the field, he could be found on the golf course, reading a good book on the beach or at the lake and pool with his grandchildren who brought him so much joy.
Buzz had a larger than life personality that drew in everyone he met. He never met a stranger. He was an amazing father, husband, Pop and friend. Amongst all his accomplishments in life, his family was his most treasured. He was so proud and impressed with everything they achieved. His stories, sense of humor, laughter, encouraging words, sincerity, strong handshake and infectious smile will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
To send him off in a way most deserved, his family has decided to wait to celebrate his life when they all can be together safely. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Matthew's Parish or St. Jude's hospital. To leave a condolence or to sign our online guestbook, please visit

i was so shocked to learn of Buzzy's passing. I am an old school mate from class of 54. Buzzy was always so full of life. You always knew when he entered a room and he never lost that ability to draw people toward him. Rest in Peace Buzzy, you will be missed.

We lived down the street from Buzz and Bonnie and were fellow St. Mathew parishioners. Buzz exuded grace, dignity and neighborliness. We always thought he got that from Bonnie !
It is our hope that he realized what a terrific person he was and was well liked by the young kids on the block. Congrats on a life well lived.
