Leone Carol Leckron

GRAND ISLAND - Leone Carol Leckron passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024 at the age of 83.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Sheri Lodel officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Island NE. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com.
Leone was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on July 2, 1941, daughter of Orris and Mollie (Iverson) Olson. She grew up on her parent's dairy farm outside of Goodridge, Minnesota and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1959. On July 16, 1960, Leone married Verl Leckron. To this union three children were born: Keith, Pamela and Michael.
They began their married life in Crookston, Minnesota and Grand Forks, North Dakota. Leone worked in insurance agencies. They moved to Grand Island, Nebraska in October 1977 to open Third Base Liquor. In April 1978, Leone started working at Stephens, Ryder, Winger. In 1990, she began working at KAT, Inc, which became Insur, Inc. Leone retired in 2007 after 36 years in sales and service.
Leone was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was past council president, choir member and organist/pianist. She started a group at Calvary to sew quilts for charity. She was also a member of the Prairie Pioneer Quilters.
Leone is survived by her children: Keith (Patricia) Leckron of Omaha, NE, Pamela (John) Golka of Omaha, NE and Michael (Leigh) Leckron of Harrisburg, IL; grandchildren: Tony (Nina) Leckron, Molly (Sean) Ruth, Brian Golka & Maddie Burkemper, Brianna (Dustin) Olson, Nick (Kristin) Lukancic, and Olivia Leckron; great grandchildren: Jack, Maia, &; Luna Leckron, Ellis Ruth, Nadine Burkemper-Golka and Logan Lukancic; sister, Ramona Mossestad of Oroville, CA; brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Olson of Reno,
NV and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl; parents and sister, Marian.
