Wendell Lee Faeh

December 5, 1934 - July 6, 2025

Wendell Lee Faeh went to be with his heavenly father on June 6, 2025, at Cottonwood Estates. A Celebration of Life service will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Heartland Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Nathan Musgrave officiating. Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Christian Schools. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com.

Wendell was born December 5, 1934, to Delmond and Wilma (Potter) Faeh in Alma, NE. The family later moved to Wood River then settled in Central City in the 1940's. He graduated from Central City High School in 1953. He went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL).

During his college years, he met his wife, Nancy, at a Christian college ministry retreat in Colorado. They were married September 7, 1957. After Wendell's graduation from UNL and a brief stay in Lincoln, they moved to the farm in Central City. They raised five children together. He spent his life farming until he retired in 1999. He went on to flip houses and owned and maintained several rental properties with his wife. A large part of Wendell's life was dedicated to church ministry at Heartland Evangelical Free Church. He served the church in many different capacities through the years. His favorite was teaching the Word of God. Later in his life, he and his wife spent numerous winters in Mexico on mission trips and helped with prison ministries locally. Wendell enjoyed fast trucks and riding motorcycles. He was an avid painter. His additional hobbies included making stained glass windows, fishing and going to the races. He also enjoyed cooking and used that skill to entertain many people through the years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Dawn (David) Hanson, Lanny (Jewel) Faeh, and Andy (Lori) Faeh of Central City, Shannon Faeh of San Diego, CA, and Laurie Young (Rick Hill) of Lincoln; his siblings, Ann Elkjer of Kingwood, TX, Denny (Alice) Faeh of Central City and Larry (Jan) Faeh of Kalispell, MT; sister-in-law, Chris Teeple of Tyler, TX; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; mother and father-in-law; sister, Corrine Crossgrove; brothers-in-law, Don Teeple, Dale Crossgrove and Ed Elkjer; niece, April Sampson; nephew, Kirk Faeh and great granddaughter, Marigold Faeh.

A special thanks goes to his caregiver, Rhonda Schultz.
