Helen was a wonderful friend to me while I was employed by Lansing Central School as the elementary librarian. It was my first position and she took me under her wing. It was during that time, early 70s, when she installed her first swimming pool, directly under some shady trees. How we all laughed when she said that she was getting more exercise vacuuming the pool than she was actually swimming in it! I admired her spunk. I just was updating my address book when I saw Helen's name and decided to see if I could find her. What a coincidence. Know that you must all be missing her. My condolences to your family.

Heaven received an Angel. Aunt Helen is one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I loved to hear about her travels and adventures. Such an active individual, she amazed me at playing golf when she was in her nineties. I know she is missed by many, family and friends. Farewell sweet lady, we will all miss that smile.

There has always been a special place in my heart for your Mom. She was a remarkable woman who I really admired. She was not only a young single Mother, but she jumped back into the work force at a very difficult time, and made more of it than anyone at that time could imagine. And she was also my 4th grade teacher: Mrs. Howland for that year. I have always thought very highly of her. She was gentle, firm, and loving. She was also the Mom of my best friend growing up. I miss you Norma. I hope we can get together again in the future. I'm sorry to miss you once again this time. Love to all of you, and I am sorry for your loss.

Helen was an amazing woman who was ahead of her time. She was a neighbor and I visited often due to my friendship with Norma. Helen was my fourth grade teacher so for a year I called her, Mrs. Howland instead of Helen. She had the most infectious laugh. Thank you for writing such a wonderful tribute to this amazing woman.
