LAKELAND - Benjamin Cecil Anderson died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to cardiac arrest. He was 81.
Mr. Anderson was born on August 27, 1928, in Paradise, Florida. He served as a radio operator in the United States Navy and was a graduate of Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL. He was a Baptist. He worked as a school teacher before joining Lakeland Electric in May 1963 where he worked as an electrical engineer for 26 years before retiring in October 1989. He enjoyed restoring automobiles, building motorcycles, inventing, driving his Mustang, and spending time with his family. He was a brilliant man, loving father and adoring grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Anderson. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Cecil Anderson, II, daughter-in-law, Michelle Anderson, and two granddaughters, Marissa and Madison Anderson, all of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by his nephew, Bud Ward, of Georgia and his great-niece, Tracy Conner, of South Carolina as well as many loving neighbors and friends.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
