Billy Phillips Obituary
PHILLIPS, 80
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA Billy J.(BJ) Phillips, 80, of the 700 block of San Remo Court, Atlantic Shores Retirement Community, died on August 27, 2008 in his residence.
A native of Plant City, Florida, he was in the phosphate and potassium industry for 44 years. He was Vice President of International Minerals and Chemicals' worldwide feed phosphate and potassium operations. After retirement in 1992, he continued employment as Executive Consultant.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Phillips; two sons, Billy J., Jr (Bill) and wife Teri; and Clayton H. (Clay) Phillips; one brother, William R. Phillips of Ada, Ohio; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, all of Virginia Beach. Also surviving are two stepchildren, Melissa H. Snyder and her husband John and Courtney T. Branch and his wife, Earla;, and two step granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Gelia Phillips.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel on Tuesday September 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community. Online condolences may be made at: www.hdoliver.com.
