Poet
LAKELAND - Doris A. Orth, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2008 from pulmonary failure. Born in Abbotsford, WI she came here in 1980. Doris was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and was a published poet, having her work published in several of the Salesian Missions, Books of Poems. Survivors include her husband: Joseph D. Orth, son: Joseph P. Orth of Bartow, daughters: Dianne Duzac of Kenner, LA, Susan Monday of Fort White, FL, Sharon Millenbaugh of Holland, OH., and Joanne Fogg of Churchville, NY, sister: Elaine Bushman, of Marshfield, WI, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Lakeland Funeral Home, 2125 South Bartow Highway, on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 8:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to either: Good Shepherd Hospice or Salesian Missions, 2 Lesevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Mr and Mrs Orth were real good neighbors in Pine Ridge Estates MHP. She will be greatly missed...she was very proud of her poetry and gave me several copies of her writings
