Still in our hearts. Watching him referee basketball games into the night, letting us swim at Hewlett High School where he was a lifeguard. Taking us winter camping at Schroon Lake in February with 3 feet of snow on the ground. Employing us in the summers to clean and paint the school buildings and outdoor facilities. 3 of the people he mentored in their teens from Explorer Post 76 have become physicians. Numerous others have gone on to stellar careers.

Still think of you and the advice you gave all of us teenagers back in the 1960's. A true friend, leader and advisor. --Paul

I will always remember George, as he was good friends with my parents, Gail & Bill Steuhl. I enjoyed visits with him in New York, at Woodloch, and on family vacations where he enlighted us always, in Hilton Head, SC. I am glad my husband Darren was able to meet him -- he certainly made us all laugh. Dottie, I am sorry for your loss, George was a good man. Take care of yourself.
