LAKELAND - Joshua Matthew Vickers, age 26, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 from "Influenza A" at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
Joshua was born in Gainesville, FL. with 3 major heart defects. Joshua was the loving son of Ann Vickers and grandson of Sam and Jeanette (Royals) Vickers, all of Lakeland. He is survived by his uncles and aunts, Richard and Sharon Vickers and Roger and Barbara Vickers, also of Lakeland. He had six cousins: Joseph Vickers, Mary Vickers, Sammy Vickers, Misty Vickers, Kalee Vickers, and Wyatt Vickers.
Joshua graduated from Lake Gibson High School in 2003 and worked 8 years for RGIS as an inventory auditor. He is greatly missed by his mother, family and friends but will live on in their heart and memories.
Local visitation and service will be at Lanier Funeral Home on Wednesday (2-23) from 6-8pm. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Axson, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Children's Hospital where he and his family were provided with extraordinary care in a humane and loving manner.

To the family and friends of Josh:
I would like to give my sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Josh. We went to high school together and were friends there. I myself am saddened to hear of his passing but at least now I know he is no longer suffering and can rest in peace with our lord and angels. "Rest in Peace, Josh. You will be missed."

Worked with Josh for several years at RGIS. We had a lot of laughs.Although I had not worked with him for over a year,I will always remember him. He was a real nice guy.
