Patsy Whatley Obituary
Mrs. Patsy Celeste Whatley, age 89 a resident of Rogersville, Tennessee formally of Blairsville, Georgia & Auburndale, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her daughter's home surrounded by family. Mrs. Whatley was born February 26, 1932 in Auburndale to Thomas Norwood and Virgie Lee (Hill) Bolin. Patsy graduated from Auburndale High School, Polk Community College and University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a School Teacher at Auburndale Central Elementary School for several years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale. Patsy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Auburndale Chapter 149, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of Auburndale Sorosis Club, Woman's Club and Garden Club. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends as well as researching family genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Bill Whatley; son - Michael Whatley; sister - Carlene Jernigan and grandson - Mickey Whatley. Patsy is survived by her loving family, 2 daughters - Sandra (Paul) Richards of Blairsville, GA. and Patricia Whatley of Rogersville, TN.; son - Wilbur "Bill" (Gail) Whatley, Jr. of Palm Harbor, FL.; daughter in law - Rusti Whatley of Blairsville, GA.; 9 grandchildren & 25 gt grandchildren & 1 great great granddaughter. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Kersey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
