ALEJANDRO DAVILA Obituary
EDINBURG - Alejandro "Rey" Davila Jr. son of Alejandro and Jesusa Davila was born in Edinburg where he lived most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Davila.
"Rey" is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Maria E. Davila of Edinburg; six children, Major (s) Alejandro ( Zelma) Davila lll, US Air Force of San Antonio, Texas, Annette (Mario) Contreras of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Alfredo (Monica) Davila of San Antonio, Texas, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Alberto (Monica E.) Davila, US Navy, Abram (Vivian) Davila and Alyssa Kristen (Tomas) Alvarez all of Edinburg; twenty grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mom, Jesusa Davila of Edinburg; siblings, Lydia (Hector) Garza of Edinburg, Maria Adela (Antonio) Molina of Burnet,Tx, Norma N. Trimble of Marble Falls, Tx, Gracie (Robert) Myers of Houston, Tx, Elizabeth (Julio) Barrios of Burnet, Tx and Roy Bernal (Lettie) of Edinburg.
Visitation will be today, November 1, 2011, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m prayer service at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.

I never got the chance to say goodbye. But goodbyes are not forever. You are in a better place than us. You are walking on streets that are made of gold, rejoicing and praising our Lord. Roy I talked to your wife Leticia, my cousin, she told me to look here for your brother's picture. When I saw his picture I now remember briefly meeting him at your house. He left a wonderful and beautiful impression on me. We talked about his wife, children,family, and shared our precious life memories. My condolences are with you and your entire family.
