Pastor George Slayton was a wonderful preacher of God's word and preached straight from the Bible. I'm so sorry for his family's loss. He will always be remembered for his compassion for his congregation, and love of Christ Jesus. I am so thankful that I was able to attend Calvary Baptist Church, in McAllen, Texas, and hear Brother Slayton's sermons, while I lived in the Valley. May the Lord bless his soul, and continue to bless his family, Amen!!! Helena Moffett

I can´t believe you have been gone almost 13 years Daddy, & Mom almost 20 years! Some days it seems almost like it was just yesterday...While we have great peace knowing you are with the Lord, we still miss you & Mom! I think of things I wish I could ask you to explain, and help me to understand better. So many things I miss about both of you! We were so blessed! I know someday we will see you both again! Together in Heaven...Together Again!

Thanks to everyone for all your prayers and sweet memories of Dad. We miss him so much but find great peace in the fact that he's in heaven with mom and all the other family members that have gone before him. He's praising the King and so are we!

The Lord worked through Bro. George to win lost souls for the kingdom. He was a patient, kind and mighty man of God. He prayed for and mentored my husband and then baptised him at Calvary. Our prayers are with George's family, but we have the assurance that he is with God and Marion. What a glorious reunion! Sorry to have missed the Saturday service. We will never forget him!
