Regina Trevino Obituary

REGINA V. TREVINO
MCALLEN - Regina V. Trevino, 93, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009; she will be dearly missed by her family friends and all who's lives she touched. She was life time member of the Ladies Society at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic in McAllen and devoted her life to her church and family. She was born to Prajedes Vasquez and Georgia Contreras on October 07, 1915 in Donna, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years of marriage to Alberto Trevino and one son Carlos Trevino. Left to cherish her memory are four sons, Agustin Montoya, Jose Antonio (Angie) Montoya, Juan C. (Alicia) Trevino, Samuel (Adriana) Benson all of McAllen, Texas; three daughters Julie T. Clark of McAllen, Texas, Elma Trevino of McAllen, Texas, Amparo (Jerry) Acevedo of Angleton, Texas. Also left to cherish her memory are thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today Monday, May 25, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen, Texas. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas. All funeral arrangements are entrusted to Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas.

The children of Juan and Clemencia Rodriguez (now deceased), would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of our cousin Regina. We were actually second cousins. Our dad's mother was Julia Contreras Rodriguez, sister to Regina's mom. Although we did not keep in touch other than at the cemetery or at funerals, we deeply respected Regina and were always grateful for her kindness and thoughtfulness in those difficult times when our family suffered a loss. She was a wonderful being, a wonderful person. My sister and I last saw her about 2 years ago at Valley Memorial Gardens where she was placing flowers on her husband's resting place. We will miss her, but are sure that she has gained her place in heaven.
Again, our deepest sympathy from the Rodriguez cousins in Houston, Texas.
