I was so sorry to see that Robert passed away. One of my most enduring memories of him (that I've told friends about) was when he was a Leesburg Town Police Officer. He was doing a driver's license/registration check on Ft. Evans Rd - not far from my apartment in the '70s, I believe. I'd known him in high school - though he was about 3 years younger than I. And when I pulled up & produced my license & registration, etc immediately, he said "I knew you'd have what you needed." So positive, polite & kind - then & when he was in high school. Not surprised that he was "Officer of the Year" at least once. Prayers of comfort for his family.
