Andrew M Alexander, 84, passed away at sunrise, Friday, April 7, 2023, at the place he loved best, his farm. He was born on May 15, 1938 on the family farm in Elwell to Theodore and Freda Langworthy Alexander. He married Barbara Hamlin in February 1957. He was by turns an adventurer and a homebody, a silo builder, worked a GM factory line, as a Dow engineering consultant, a restauranteur, and always a farmer. Andy and Barb purchased the farm in Vestaburg in 1966, growing potatoes, beans and corn, and dairy cows over the years. Andy loved flying his ultralight airplane, old Western movies, backcountry drives and all things mechanical; he was a tinkerer, fabricator and fix-it man, as long as it wasn't anything in the house. He was proud of his years on the Vestaburg School Board and was honored as an inaugural Vestaburg Pioneer in 2013.
Andy's family would especially like to thank all the incredible staff at McLaren Hospice Bay City, for the loving compassionate care they gave to Andy in his final months.
