Christopher D. Gruss

1978 - 2021

Christopher D. Gruss; age 43 of Shepherd, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital. Chris was born April 1, 1978 the son of Richard Gruss. He enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, camping, welding and fabricating, trucking and anything with his family. Chris owned and operated Gruss and Sons Transport. He volunteered for the Weidman fire department for 10 years. Chris married Jennifer Feltman April 4, 2014. Chris is survived by the love of his life, his wife Jennifer; 2 sons Calvin and Jacob Gruss; his father Doug (Chris) Gruss of Shepherd; sister Lisa (Ronnie) Torres of Mt. Pleasant; grandfather Richard Gruss of Beal City; 2 nieces Isabella and Stella Torres; and numerous cousins and extended family. Chris is preceded by his grandparents Calvin and Dorthy Brewer; grandmother Bernice Gruss; uncle Jeff Gruss; cousin Jason Gruss; uncle Larry Brewer of OK; father-in-law Bernie Feltman; and brother-in-law Buck Feltman. Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, plants etc., an account/trust is being set up in Chris and Jennifer's name for Calvin and Jacob Gruss for their future, which will be through the Gratiot Community Credit Union at 211 W Center St., Alma, MI 48801 (Attention Nikki or Lisa). Arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home of Shepherd.
