Darrell Courser Obituary

Darrell Andrew Courser, age 68, of Blanchard passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family after a yearlong battle with lung cancer that had spread to his brain. He was born on July 25, 1954, in Edmore, Michigan to Stanley Andrew and Dorothy Elaine (Rutter) Courser. Darrell grew up in Blanchard and graduated from Montabella High School in 1972. On November 24, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Debra Lee Narducci, at the Blanchard Church of God. Darrell worked for 34 years at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and retired in 2009. He enjoyed motorcycle trips with his wife, camping, boating, fishing, and fixing or rebuilding things. Darrell also enjoyed listening to music and being outside. His best joys in life were his sons and grandchildren. Darrell was a great husband and friend to all. Darrell will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Debra Courser; children, Joseph Andrew (Tina) Courser of Edmore, Matthew Lee Courser of Blanchard; grandchildren, Andrew (Krista) Courser, Felisha (Nate) Bandfield, Dustin (McKenna) Courser, Brook Courser, Matthew Wheeler; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Larry) Bellingar of Blanchard; and brothers, Gerald (Jenny) Courser of Blanchard, Alan (Trudy) Courser of Mt. Pleasant. Darrell was proceeded in death by his parents; stepfather, Donald Decker; and 2 great-grandchildren, Addison Courser and Maddox Courser. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
