She and her husband Charlie owned and operated a Paint and Wallpaper business during the 30 years they lived in Sebastian, Florida before returning to Ionia to retire. Velma was a member of the Ionia Assembly of God Church. She loved making homemade cards and would distribute those to many people in all her years.
Surviving Velma are her children, Robert (Sharon) Courser of Fellsmere, Florida and Carol (Grant) Parkin of St. Johns. Grandchildren, Patrick Courser, Robert Paul Courser, Conan Hunter, Terre (Brian) Yeiter, Paul Parkin, Eli (Jeannie) Parkin and Casey Parkin-Mencini. Great grandchildren, Brooke (Sabastian) Heintz, Joshua (Chelsea) Yeiter, Landyn Parkin, Makyah Parkin, Brogyn Parkin, Raegyn Parkin, Greyson Parkin, Kaitlyn (Sam) Werstler, Alex Mencini, Nolan Mencini, Jase Deaton, and Mason Perkins. Great great grandchildren, Harper Heintz, Wyatt Heintz, and Hazel Yeiter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ronald Beach, and son Michael Charles.
There will be no services at the time. She will be interred with husband Charlie at Balcom Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
