Milo Worthy Obituary

Worthy, Milo Paul “Mick”; passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at his home peacefully with his family by his side. Mick was born to Milo and Margret Janet Worthy on November 16, 1945 in Greenville, Michigan where he lived until the age of 5. The family moved to St. Louis Michigan with his parents in 1951, where he attended St. Louis Public School and graduated in 1963. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 and was a life member of the St. Louis VFW Post 3055. He married the love of his life and best friend Sue Ellen Zigray of Alma in 1971 and had two children with her. He was owner/operator of the family business, Worthy Electric from 1972 to 2006, which his father started in 1951 and which his son operates currently, making it one the oldest family run business in St. Louis. Mick would often receive calls from older people who said they were having trouble with a light or some such thing. When he got to the residence it was usually just a light bulb to be screwed in and it was just an excuse to have him come and visit with them. These people never got charged a service call, but they always insisted on paying for his time, and his payment would be baked goods of some kind. He loved and appreciated his customers. Mick loved fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends at his beloved Rose Lake. He especially was so proud of all his grandchildren and spoiled them as much as he could. He loved just taking his grandchildren for a ride in his truck. He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Worthy; children, Mary Worthy of Athol, Idaho, Michael (Michelle) Worthy of St. Louis; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Emma, Katherine, and Addison; his sister, Vicki (John) Glerum of Boise, Idaho; nephews, Jay Glerum and Steve Glerum. He is preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Margret Janet Worthy. At Mick’s request he is being cremated and there will be a Memorial Service at a later date.

Mick was such a good family man. His family was most important to him. Best of all, he loved my sweet sister Sue to the moon and back. They were always together. During Mick's illness he was so brave. I never once heard him complain. EVER. Whenever I stopped over he made sure he took time to talk to me even when he didn't feel well. Mick, I know you are in a better place now and my only regret is that my sister must live out her life without her best friend by her side. But she is tough and determined and I know she will be ok with lots of friends and family surrounding her. I know you liked the outdoors and the last time I saw you, you were on your back porch enjoying the breeze. Enjoy the breeze brother in law. Enjoy the breeze.
