KLUMPP, RUTH CATHERINE; age 94; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Funeral Mass for Ruth will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ricky Varner officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall following the committal service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church, Isabella County Medical Care Facility, the Isabella County Commission on Aging, or a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Ruth was born on June 12, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Anthony and Mathilda (Pung) Schafer. She married Alfred Klumpp on July 18, 1942 in San Francisco, CA. In addition to being homemaker, Ruth worked as a phone operator, bookkeeper, childcare provider, tax preparer, and did volunteer work. Ruth was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and Women of the Moose. Ruth loved music, she played the organ and accordion, and loved to sing. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her children, Cheryl (Mike) McCreery of Elwell, Maxine Klumpp (Mike) Kent, Cindy (Phil) Ludwig, and Donna (Dave) Ahlers, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Chris (Emily) McCreery, Carla (Kory) McDaid, Jeremy Tubbs, Jason (Ashley) Tubbs, Dave (Sheryll) Kent, Tony (Karmen) Fox, Angie Fox, Phillip (Erin) Ludwig, Josh (Carrie) Ludwig, Brad (Lauren) Ahlers, and Heath Ahlers; great-grandchildren, Max McCreery, Meredith McCreery, Aubree McDaid, Maicee McDaid, Gwyn Tubbs, Matt Tubbs, Grant Tubbs, Faith Tubbs, Jonathan Tubbs, Priscilla Hadap, Ella Fox, Emerson Fox, Sophie Ludwig, Delia Ludwig, Abby Ludwig, and Avery Ludwig; brother, Jerry (Bethel) Schafer; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Schafer Carter, Bonnie Zingery, Renelda Klumpp, Betty Wilson, and Pauline Klumpp. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alfred Klumpp; son, Terry Klumpp; great-granddaughter, Elaina McCreery; parents; parents-in-law; brothers, Bob, Walt (Wanda), Ed (Marjorie), and Oscar (Eileen) Schafer; and sister, Ann (Milo) Eldred.
