Dr. Donald James Landry

Dr. Donald James Landry beloved husband of the late Mozelle Turner Landry born in New Orleans on September 2, 1928 passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the age of 87. He also is predeceased by his father Aldus (Alduce) Landry and his mother Marie Martha Angeline Picard, and his son Michael Gerard Landry. He is survived by his children Donald James Landry II, Tori Ann Landry, Geri Lynn Landry, Jamie Landry Payne (Lee), Julia Rene' Landry, Robert Scott Landry; his grandchildren Ashlee Wohlert Malfatto, Christopher A Wohlert, Jason L Payne, Jody B Payne, Stephanie D Payne, Michael Landry Jr., Jordan T Dear, Abbigail A Landry; great grandchildren: Kane J Wohlert, Aurora M Payne, Ashley N Payne and Taylor O Wohlert, also survived by his brothers Alduce C Landry and Carl E Landry and his daughter-in-law, Dorothy L. Landry. Dr. Landry served in the 17th infantry Regiment of the 7th infantry division during 1946 to 1947. He graduated from Loyola Dental School in 1954. He served as a member of the faculty at Loyola University School of Dentistry from 1954 until 1959. He served as President of the Veterans Boulevard Business Association in 1964, also served as President and a member of the Louisiana State Board of Health and Human Resources for 12 years, and also was Chairman of the Medicaid Advisory Committee for the State of Louisiana for 8 years. Dr. Landry enjoyed gardening, cooking, and genealogy. He was very passionate about his family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am.
