LaDean Mather Self

LaDean Mather Self, 93, a native of Hodgenville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Signature Healthcare in Elizabethtown.

She was a member of Union Christian Church, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and active in her church; a longtime member of Crosstown Hometown Homemakers and past LaRue County Homemakers president. She was a charter member of Unit 87 American Legion Auxiliary and past district president of the American Legion Auxiliary; served on the Lincoln Museum Board, past president of Lincoln Days Inc., volunteered for the American Red Cross, Relay for Life and many years at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

LaDean was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kenneth "Todd" Self; her parents, Perry and Evelyn Riley Mather; and a son, Charles Marcus Self.

She is survived by two sons, John Self and Glenn Sigl, both of Boston, Massachusetts; two brothers, Cecil Mather of Hodgenville and Merritt Mather of Louisville; and two sisters, Pat (Jim) Hatcher and Alice Rock, both of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Brother Steve Campbell officiating. Burial follows in Union Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday and continues at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
