David Charles Mack

David Charles Mack, 47 of Lacey, died on Dec. 25, 2003 surrounded by family, after a brave and courageous fight against liver cancer. Dave was born to George and Rosealba Mack on Feb. 12, 1956 in Limestone, Maine. Being the son of a Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, he lived in 4 different countries and attended schools in Japan, Germany, New York, and Washington State. At the age of 17, he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis. After completing his duty in the military, he remained in the Tacoma/ Lacey area. On Aug. 24, 1985, he married his wife Cathy and together they raised 5 children. Dave's kids were the most important part of his life and the attributes and values he taught them will forever remain with them. In addition to his children, he was the proud grandpa of 3 beautiful little grandbabies.At the time of Dave's death, he was the Regional Sales Manager for Ace Fire and Security in Lacey. Dave's zest for life and the ability to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, afforded him many friends. He had many interests and hobbies, but the one he loved the most was riding his Harley. He loved the open road and the wind in his face.Dave is survived by his wife Cathy of 18 years - who he knew within minutes of first meeting her that she would be his soul mate; his sons David Mack Jr. and Jerramy Mack of Lacey; son Jason Peterson and daughter-in- law Jami Peterson of Olympia; son Aaron Peterson of Rocklin, CA; daughter Heidi Peterson of Lacey; grandbabies Julion Mack, Kacey Mack and Cole Peterson; all of Olympia; his parents of San Jacinto, CA; brother George and wife Phyllis of OK; brother Steve and wife Lilia of CA; brother Danny and wife Robyn of WA, and many, many dear friends.Dave will forever live in our hearts and will be deeply missed.A viewing will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater Mon., Dec. 29 from 3pm-8pm. A memorial service will be Tues., Dec. 30, 1pm, at the Tumwater United Methodist Church, 1401 Lake Park Drive SW, Tumwater.
