Fay Carlson Obituary

Fay Carlson Fay Carlson, long-time resident of Olympia, passed away on August 3, 2017 at Mother Joseph's Care Center. Fay was born on October 16, 1945 at St. Peter's Hospital to Charles E. and June Link. She was the eldest daughter of six children. Fay graduated from Olympia High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter she married Ron Carlson, also from Olympia. Fay and Ron had two children, Pam and Chris. Fay worked as a bartender at the Olympia Oyster House for 15 years before accepting another bartending position at the China Clipper. She worked at the "Clipper" for 22 years. Fay loved her job and the customers she served. Fay loved spending time with her family. She was very proud of her children and her grandchildren. In her off-time Fay enjoyed cruises and vacationing in Mexico with family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting with friends at the VFW Hall and her trips to Westport with "the girls." Fay was preceeded in death by her father, Charles E. Link, and sister, Debra Elsner. She is survived by her mother, June Link, and her siblings: Charles (Buddy) W. Link and sister-in-law Elaine Link, Kathy Stoltz, Kim Link, Terry Emmick and brother-in-law Steve Emmick. She also leaves behind her daughter Pam Carlson, son Chris Carlson and daughter-in-law Kathey Carlson as well as grandchildren: Jaclyn Huber, Darrell Carlson, Taylor Carlson, and Kylar Carlson. She will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of Fay's life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 beginning at 12 noon at the VFW Post 318. The VFW is located at 2902 Martin Way East in Olympia. Lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers the family suggests any donations be made to the VFW Post 318.
