KATHY BEDGER Obituary
She was born June 30, 1955 to Samuel and Joyce (Osborne) Nowlin in Tyrone.
Kathy grew up in a farming family and graduated from Tyrone High School in 1973. She then attended
Philipsburg School of Nursing and graduated in 1980. She worked for over 35 years at Clearfield Hospital. During her career, she furthered her education with a Bachelor's degree in nursing, a Master's degree in nursing and a Master's degree in hospital administration. At the time of her retirement, she was Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of the Clearfield Hospital. Kathy enjoyed reading, baking, canning, hunting and fishing. She most loved caring for others. She was active in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization and the auxiliaries of Clearfield Hospital and IRMC.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Dr. Richard C. Bedger of Indiana; a daughter,
Crystal Simmons; and granddaughter, Johanna of Tyrone; two sisters, Molly Grove (Robert) of Alexandria, and Amy Nowlin of Tyrone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Andrew Samuel Nowlin.
An Informal Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 6, 2024 at B&D Acres, 3121 Huntingdon Furnace Rd., Tyrone, from 12 to 2 p.m.; on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Clearfield at Rivers Landing, 139 West Market St., Clearfield; and Indiana Country Club, 495 Country Club Rd., Indiana, on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home of Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Tyrone-Snyder Public Library, 1000 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686; or an organization of donors choice.

I am saddened to hear of Kathy´s passing. We worked many years together at Clearfield Hospital and traveled together for educational seminars. No matter Kathy´s job or title she was always just Kathy. I will always remember her speaking so proudly of her daughter. Kathy will be surely missed. My sympathy to the family.

Our personal memories go back a long time. We knew each other growing up in Philipsburg..

Sincere condolences to Dr Bedger, her daughter, granddaughter and sisters. I was privileged to become acquainted with Kathy Kathy, while working in Clearfield Hospital Administration. Kathy was a brilliant nurse and amazing leader, for which I admired her.
