Randy Cleaver Obituary
He was born Feb. 6, 1959, the son of Irvin S. and Sara (Bloom) Cleaver.
Randy graduated from Indiana University then worked as a park ranger for the national park service where he shared his vast knowledge of the civil war with thousands of visitors at the battlefields throughout his career. He was always reading and researching the civil war.
He served with the US Army attaining the rank of captain.
He is survived by a brother, Dave Cleaver and wife Deann of Louisa, Va.; nephew, Jesse and his wife Jessica and their three children Cole, Ava and Ty; and niece, Heidi Cleaver of Louisa, Va.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting with the arrangements.

Randy and I were cousins, and our grandfather had a love of history which Randy took hold of and ran with it. His brother, Dave, and I were talking and Dave said that no one could possibly know more about the Civil War than Randy.
We spent many Thanksgivings together, Randy always came home for that, and he will be missed, not only at the holidays, but everyday.
If Heaven has a front porch, dad is there saving a spot for Randy.

Losing a classmate too soon. I remember how much Randy loved the Civil War, and even in high school shared that love with all of us. I pray his love of history lives on with all those he shared with over the years.
