Joanna Lewis Obituary
Loving wife of Mark Lewis, daughter of Joe and Patricia Hunter, daughter-in-law of John and Vickie Lewis, sister of Joseph Hunter, sister-in-law to Keith Lewis, Faith King and Joseph Lewis.
She will be remembered by many nephews and nieces. She faithfully served as a church administrative assistant, Sunday school teacher, church bus captain and Jr. church leader. Her passion was for the children that she taught. We celebrate her life with special services on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, where she served her Lord. Visitation is from 10 to noon with the service at noon.
Memorial donations can be made to the Joanna Lynn Lewis Scholarship Fund. They may be sent to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3321 Farrell Road, Vacaville, CA 95688.

Can't believe how much time has passed. Still miss you, your laugh and the encouragement you gave the kids. I remember joking with you while I was pregnant with each J girl and you teased about me having twins & id tell you it's okay you'll be teaching them in Sunday School, TAG & on Hi-5! Wish that would of became a reality... Ari had her baby and she did indeed give her Joanna-Lynn as a first name...

It's been 3 long years since you went home to be with the Lord. I still remember our last phone conversation, like it was yesterday. I have since memorized the verses (Jer.29:11-13) you told me to read & we were to discuss on Friday.. Guess, it'll be a Friday when we're both in Heaven. There will never be enough words to truly express to you just how thankful I am for all the ways you've blessed my girls. Your willingness to serve God, taught my girls so many wonderful things. In 2010, I remember rejoicing with you on Alyssas change of heart which enabled you to lead her to Christ. I love & miss you!!

Hi Mrs. Joanna.
To this day I think of all the various great times I had with you during your stay. Beginning with July 3rd 2002 when you brought me to know the Lord. Over the next 9 years I would develop so many very fond memories either directly from you or indirectly due to your immense amount of behind the scenes work at FBC. It has been 3 years now and a lot has changed. I got married a year ago! I really wish Rachel's first interaction with you would have been before you passed. I regularly attend and serve as a layman at a like-faith church in my city with my wife. We have been there for just under 8 months now.
Thank you for leaving behind such a great legacy and thank you for playing such an important roll in my life for 9 years.

.......after the sun goes down and the radio/tv aren't loud enough to quiet the chatter in your head..
.......after u find yourself alone and stuck with what you were hoping others wouldn't discover...
.......after ur no longer desperate for success ur just praying for a chance...
........after even the outcasts of society look at you as bad company

Since love is a command ...it's a choice.....sometimes our choices are easier to make than at other times .....usually because some personal gain/advantage. But other times choices are made with risk of not having a gain but maybe end up with less than we started with.
But for every choice that involves a risk it also involves a reward that's greater than the average choice produces and also greater than the cost of that unknown period of time of your choice.

As the days pass, your memory lives on.. Sometimes i still find myself thinking, what would Mrs. Joanna say.. More so when the girls do off the wall things.. We miss you so much, Ari came across a Bible you gave to her back in 2005 and seeing your handwriting and remembering your love for the Kids brought a smile to my face, a warmness in my heart and tears down my cheek! Thank you!!!
It's always neat to see her handwriting....and the young people treasuring that one more piece of her attractive motivational attention!

My strength .....
some people put all of their strength in their work
and others in their hobbies
and yet others place their strength in themselves
as for me my strength is in the Lord
when people are weak and they need to go on
they rely on so many other things other than what they should reach for to renew their strength
when people call upon the Lord they will find none other will help
they will find once they ask the Lord for an increase in strength
they are above and beyond refreshed
Some people may go to pills or drugs to gain strength
some people will go to others to once again attain strength
and yet others will do most anything else other than what they should do
the Lord is my strength He is whom I call upon in my weakness
Even in my joyfulness I thank the One above ....
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me
Only God knew that day we started the bus routes how many lives it was going to affect!!!

Dear Mrs Joanna they say you truly never know who much you miss someone until there not there,well its true you are one lady who while your time here on earth may have been short it filled volumes you touched so many lives,I think of the storey of paul and barnbus how they did a great work together but GOD new what was best because of the split so many things happened I don't think they wanted it to happen that way but look at all the got started when they were on there own,so I guess will close until later miss that smile and laugh and even when you were serious you made us the best we could be thank you.

It has come time for me to step back,step down,and get restored in the sufficiency of CHRIST! It was amazing how we were a team in the ministry and I haven't been able to continue at that proper level since your absence.
So many memories,projects,good times that lately it's been hard to sleep. Every time I close my eyes I'm reminded of yet another thought that brings me to tears. I have chosen to heal and get spiritually healthy instead of being selfish and hinder Gods people. I didn't realize the flood of thoughts,messages,faces,conversations,and fellow soldiers that it would include let alone affect. I find myself more then ever wishing you we're here to tell me the right thing to do. I know what I personally need but I wish I could make you proud-I wish I could be motivated for you Joanna....just one last time!!!! Thank you for believing in me when I didn't even believe in myself!!
