Hello Daddy,
I finally am able to tell you just how much I miss you and love you ! I know you are where you always dreamed of being with the lord our savior, you are deeply missed . I am forever in your debt for the guidance you gave me growing up . A part of you will live on in me , your leadership is what I recall when I have to make tough decisions in both personal and professional situations. I wish you were still here to talk to. I know it is only for a little while, this game we call life, and then eternity is where I shall see you again when its my time. I love and miss you very very much!!!

We new little that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we did the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day the Lord called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
We all love you and miss you very much!

Vacaville man was a shining example to others
Reporter Editor:
On May 23, I attended the funeral of a man I had once worked for and had known for 30 years. His was Thomas "Tommy" F. McGann. He was a Vacaville resident for well over 30 years, living in various locations in the area. He is survived by his wife and three children, their families and relatives.
Tommy was in the trucking business and had very strong work ethics. Eighteen hours a day was pretty much the norm for him. He very much loved what he did and was very good at it. When I first met him in the mid-'70s, I was working for a commercial truck shop in Cordelia. He would come in fairly often to have his equipment worked on. Always smiling and up-beat in attitude, he usually would leave a case of beer for the men for a little compensation, and in hopes we could get his truck done in a fair amount of time. As time is always money in trucking, Tommy could not be down long, as he only owned a few trucks.
Around 1976, because of economics and certainly other issues, my hours were cut so much, I needed to start looking for work elsewhere. During these times, Tommy knew my situation and would let me moonlight at his shop in Vacaville. I had a wife and two children, and could really use the extra money. This lasted for sometime, until one day Tommy said he could probably put me on full time. I quit my job in Cordelia and brought my tools up to his shop to work. Tommy only had seven tractors, so we decided to take on some commercial work for the slow times. It all worked out well, and I worked for him about two and a half years.
Tommy was not your average business man. He took risks in hiring many employees through the years, and most of them worked out, some did not. He gave jobs to people who most employers would not even consider. He would just say something like, "Everyone
deserves a chance, and who am I not to give it to them." Most past and present employees probably say they owe some of their success in life to Tommy McGann. He was all about hard work and ethics, and just giving someone eight hours work for eight hours pay. Also, he paid well, and always on time.
I think another area of Tommy's life that he enjoyed so much was treating people. I couldn't count how many times he came into the shop with coffee and donuts or at lunch time he would just show-up with deli sandwiches or hamburgers and drinks. Many Sunday afternoons my family was invited to his home for a swim party and barbecue. Tommy was like this with all his acquaintances.
Tommy McGann will be greatly missed by all people, no matter what their occupation in life - business people, truck drivers, mechanics, dock workers, warehouse personnel, laborers and especially his family and relatives. I was lucky to have known him, and owe him a great deal for his example to me. His character and spiritual example were beyond compare to anyone I have known in my life, and I am sure most people would agree.
A great man of example has left us, but his smile and legacy will live on. A loving family man, veteran, successful businessman and true friend to all, especially to the underprivileged. My family and I will truly miss him, and our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
