Bobette Hopkinson Obituary

Bobette Walker Hopkinson

NSL, Utah

In loving memory of our wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Bobette was born in Lyman, Wyo. October 25, 1928 to Clyde & Ruby Walker. Married August 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple to her loving husband of 65 years, Arthur E. Hopkinson. Wonderful mother of Craig Hopkinson, Denis(Cynthia)Hopkinson, Suzette(Kelly)Davis, Debra Green, Barry(Pitece)Hopkinson, Brad(Kellie)Hopkinson. Survived by one brother, Ronald Walker.

After showing us how to endure to the end with dignity and love, Mom was reunited with loving family members on Sunday March 17, 2013. Mom endured so much with her fragile body and finally succumbed to the effects of Ovarian Cancer. She loved her family enough to face the challenges of surgery and chemo and did it with courage and faith. Mom taught us by example, always striving to make the best out of her trials. Her accomplishments and callings are too numerous to list, but the one thing she was most proud of was her family. Mom and Dad served four missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: three in the St. George, Utah area and the last one to Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Missouri.

Bobette leaves behind her husband, 6 children, 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was a grandma that loved unconditionally and they all felt her love and were able to turn to her in times of need. People often said she was always smiling, with never a frown. She was a great example of a Christ-like woman. Her testimony of the Savior will continue to burn bright in all of her posterity. She was a wonderful mother and a perfect lady to the very end.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Orchard 10th Ward Bldg. 3317 S. 800 W. Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may visit Saturday at 11-12:30 at the church house prior to the service. Internment will be at the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery 1640 S. Lakeview Dr. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.

Bobette was truly and elect daughter of our heavenly father. Her smile one that will never be forgotten. She fought such a valiant fight and is now in the arms of a loving heavenly father and many family members who have gone before. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family she has left behind.

She will surely be missed by her adoring family, but she has gone on ahead to prepare the way, and leaves behind her legacy of courage and love. Her family is a attribute to her memory with the promise of great works to come, carrying on the works she began.
