Kanab, Utah - Christina Chatterley Fox was born on February 25, 1931 in Kanab, Utah to Lena Leola Mangum and Joseph Graydon Chatterley. She was called home to her Heavenly Father after a valiant battle with cancer on February 10, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones.
She grew up learning to work hard. She remembered living on the ranch on the Johnson Run. She and her brother Richard (Dick) only had each other to play with on the ranch until Thois and Shanna came along. They were all very close and remained very close.
Christie was close to all her cousins. JoAnn, Zolene and she were not only cousins but also best friends being the same age and living so close to each other. Her school days best friend was Janice Blanchard and, they remained close until Janice passed away.
Christie married Ben Broadbent Hamblin at the young age of 15. They started their family when Christie was just 17. They had 4 children RaeLene (Scott) Johnson, Joe Del- deceased (Marsha) Hamblin, Mark Benny (Corinne) Hamblin and Robin (Michael) Kindt. They later divorced. She then married Douglas Clynn Utley and they had 1 daughter Christina "Tina" (Shane) Button. After their divorce, she married Donald L. Carlson and they later divorced. On May 30, 1998 she married her sweetheart Julian B. Fox and they were sealed in the St. George Temple on August 11, 2012. Christie and Julian had such a good time together. They traveled to Alaska and Nauvoo driving the entire way. Fishing was one of their favorite activities and Christie took pride in being able to out fish everyone.
One of Christie's biggest joys was working in the Kane County Volunteer Center AKA The Thrift Store, and all who worked with her. She loved to cook, golf, read, paint, sew and quilt. Christie was excellent at everything she tried.
Christie had 5 children, 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Christie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Zion's Way Home Health and Hospice, The Kanab 1st Ward and Mosdell Mortuary, and the many who stopped by to visit this last week.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Kanab Kaibab Stake Center, with viewings Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Stake Center and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 12:45 PM at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
