Niels Wayson Obituary

Niels D. Wayson age 64, died suddenly on April 7, 2022 after a short illness. Son of Delbert and Ingrid Wayson (both deceased). Niels lived most of his life in Chula Vista working in the commercial construction industry in the concrete trade on major San Diego projects such as Sea World and Qualcomm Stadium. He was an expert in his field. Always happy to lend his expertise to family and friends to build beautiful patios, gardens, ponds and planters to be enjoyed for years to come.
After retiring from the construction industry, Niels was able to pursue his passion and dream for fishing. An avid angler, he spent most of his time on the waters of San Diego Bay fishing and exploring. He also fished our local lakes, catching record largemouth bass many times. Niels was a Catch/ Release fisherman, releasing native fish back into the waters, to ensure generations to come the enjoyment of his favorite sport. Niels had many friends from all walks of life, who he considered to be family. Always helpful and doing good deeds for others, Niels will be greatly missed, along with a multitude of stories from his life and family that he would share enthusiastically. He was quite the story-teller.

Dad, Brother, Uncle, Outdoorsman, Fisherman, Friend.

Forever "Gone Fishing."

Survived by his son, Nicholas and sisters, Valerie (Paul) and Julie. Nephew, Trevor and girlfriend Tina and his faithful dog, Tollee, who never left his side.
A celebration of life to be planned.

OHHH, the fun we had on Elsie Way!! Valerie was my good friend but I always had a crush on Neils. He was the coolest, his bicycle had a banana seat!! You didn´t get any cooler than that.

He always had a smile to kill and he made everyone else smile because he could light the world up with that smile. He was a good friend to my amazing cousin, Rowdy and when we left CA to move to OK I missed the Wayson family so much.

Last time I saw him was 40 yrs ago. He made me smile even then. This handsome, amazing man was quick witted and kind. I´m blessed to have known him and I love remembering our "Elsie Way" times. Thank you Rowdy for keeping me informed about our dear friend Neils. My sincere condolences to Val & Julie. I truly wish I´d have visited my dear cousin, Rowdy just one more time and I know in my heart he would do what he did 40 yrs ago and gotten us all together for a great time. Much love & sympathy for my dear Wayson family and all that knew Neils because if you knew him, you loved him. Rest In Peace my dear friend, Neils!!! Hugs!!

I will always remember Niels, so glad I got to meet him. What a fine person with such a big caring heart.
I wish the family well as you all go on without him.

My year living with a young, rambunctious, ever delightful, preschooler was a true joy and daily reminded me of how energy can climb the highest fence, tackle a wrestling uncle, and bring laughter to life. Thank you, Neils, for this gift to all of us.
