Our family grew up beside The Stouts in Irmo. My fondest memory was when I walked the Kirkland Kindergarden Mr. Stout was working on making his fishing flies. God Bless the family. The Padgett Family.

We have lost another true Irmonian. I remember growing up in Irmo and going to the house at the bottom of the hill to play with all of you. Your Dad would play with us. It was a more simpler time back then. It's memories like those that you need to cherish and hang on to. May God bless each and every one of you during this difficult time.

I'll never forgot the time my dad was on the church steps asking Mr.Bert about fishing in Moutain City after my dad had read an article in a magazine. My dad knew he was from that area....just not "the" fishing holes. What wonderful memories I have of your family..not only the Irmo people, but the Mountain City family and Rubin and Jo. It has been the memories that have made our heritage move forward. May these memories be a joy and a comfort during this transition time. God bless each of you.

Bert was one of my best friends when we were growing up in Mountain City Tennessee. He and his brother Rubin were wonderful to talk to and we spent a few hours reminiscing the last time we saw them over a fish fry. Bert was a generous caring man and a great fisherman (Mary can sure cook fish.) Bert will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Mary and the rest of the family at this sorrowful time.
