January 25, 1954 - January 5, 2021
Columbia, South Carolina - Memorial services for Gail Marvis Redford will be held 12 Noon Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church in Columbia, SC. After a private viewing, the Rosary will be held 6PM Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Palmer Memorial Chapel.
Gail Marvis Redford transitioned Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Lexington, SC. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late John and Azzie Lee Redford. She was a graduate of Boylan-Haven-Mather Academy in the Class of 1971. A lifelong SC State University Bulldog, she earned her undergraduate degree (1975) and masters degree in Educational Counseling and completed further graduate work to earn an Educational Specialist degree from SC State University.
While residing in Charleston, SC, she was a counselor at Burke High School, and later at Trident Technical Community College. She held professorships at Palmer College and at Midlands Technical Community College. She was a consultant for the SC Department of Education. Always supporting her alma mater, she was a member of the Greater Columbia Alumni Chapter of SCSU.
Surviving are her son Herbert Stent Fielding, Jr. of Columbia; her sister Gloria R. (Kenny) Faulker of Winston-Salem, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Please visit www.PalmerMemorialChapel.com for additional information.
